The Tall Ship St. Lawrence II is a 72' purpose built outdoor education vessel. The sailing rig (brigantine) was purposefully designed to facilitate teamwork and the need for cooperative effort. The ship runs a peer-led program focused on leadership, cooperation, perseverance, and teamwork, as well as offering career development and trades training to youth.
Every year the ship is home to a year-round leadership & skills development program for youth, who complete training in leadership, heritage trades & marlinespike seamanship, project management, voyaging under sail, and safety.
Built by Kingston Shipyards in 1953, the ship has run consecutively every season since 1954, sailing the Great Lakes, St. Lawrence River, The Maritimes, and New England."
